What is Obesity?
Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health. It makes you more likely to have conditions like high blood pressure, stroke or heart problems.

Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
Obesity can be dangerous, it may be the root of some diseases though not everyone who is obese has all of these problems. The risk rises if you have a family history of one of these conditions.

- Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar levels are above normal. High blood sugar is a major cause of heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, amputation, and blindness.
Losing weight and becoming more physically active can help control your blood sugar levels. Becoming more active may also reduce your need for diabetes medication.Fat cells may release hormones that affect cell growth, leading to cancer.
Cancer occurs when cells in one part of the body, such as the colon, grow abnormally or out of control.

Osteoarthritis is a common health problem that causes pain and stiffness in your joints. Carrying extra pounds places extra pressure on these joints and wears away the cartilage (tissue cushioning the joints) that normally protects them.
Weight loss can ease stress on the knees, hips, and lower back and may improve the symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Gout is a disease that affects the joints. It happens when you have too much uric acid in your blood. The extra uric acid can form crystals that deposit in the joints.
Gout is more common in overweight people. The more you weigh, the more likely you are to get gout.
