Keep your Eyesight at its Best
October 6, 2023

Having a good and healthy eyesight can help us do better in our daily lives. Here are some tips to help you preserve and improve your eye health:
Diet: Eat a nutrient-rich diet by consuming foods rich in eye-friendly nutrients such as vitamins A, C, E. This includes eating carrots, leafy greens and citrus fruits.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking enough water will provide proper hydration that supports eye moisture and health.
Lighting: Make sure to have a good lighting when reading, writing or working on screens. Avoid too much light exposure that might damage your eyes.
Eye Protection: You may use eye spectacles that limits radiation such as anti-radiation glasses especially when working most of the time in front of the screen. You may also use wearing safety goggles when working with tools.
Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep to help boost your health, including your eyes.
Wash your hands: Always maintain a good and clean hygiene to prevent eye infections. Prevent yourself from touching your eyes.
Blinking: Regular blinking may help the eyes for moisture and reduce dryness. Be mindful of blinking, especially when staring at screens.
Screen Time: Limit screen time by following the 20-20-20 rule. For every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and look at something 20 feet away to reduce eye strain.

Protect your Eyes from UV Rays: Wear sunglasses that block 100% of UVA and UVB rays when outdoors to reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Regular Eye Check-up: Visit your optometrist or ophthalmologist regularly even if you don’t currently have eye problems. This will help check the state of your eyes’ health.
